Japanese Style Steaks (BBQ)

Ingredients

MARINADE

  • 3/4 olive oil
  • 1/2 cup white wine vinegar
  • 1 large raw onion slice
  • 3 tbs soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Juice from 1/2 medium sized lemon
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbs brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt

Method

  1. Remove fat from steak; cut into serving size pieces. Put into dish.
  2. In a separate dish or bowl combine the marinade ingredients. Pour marinade over steak; marinate at room temperature for about 1 hour. Turn the steak once.
  3. When ready to barbecue (or grill). remove steak from marinade. Rub steak with brown sugar and bbq or grill to taste: 5-6 minutes each side for medium.
